Michaela is a first-generation Mexican-Filipina-American with 15+ years of experience in design excellence, and has a proven track-record of delivering high-impact global brand campaigns and design systems for the world's leading streaming services, as well as industry-recognized creative print for Hollywood heavyweights in TV & film, streaming, and music.
She currently leads a design team on the Global Brand & Creative Marketing team at Disney+ and upholds brand design standards globally for the Disney+ brand. She spearheads a wide range of branded print, digital, & motion creative for the Disney+ brand and its various bundled offerings with ESPN, Hulu, & HBO Max, including creative executions in: large-scale out-of-home & digital media campaigns, Times Square takeovers, title key art & in-service platform suites, experiential materials, merchandise, logos, style guides, and more. Previously, she was at The Walt Disney Studios where she produced and helped craft best-in-class creative print for theatrical record-breaking box office hits and streaming content from: Pixar, Disney, 20th Century Studios, and Disneynature. She is a member of the original Studio Marketing team that launched Disney+ in 2019.
Her clients and collaborators span global brands and icons such as Disney, Starbucks, ABC, Taylor Swift, Pixar, LinkedIn, Adobe, Liam Payne, Marvel, Biden for President, and NYC Pride—among many others. She holds a B.A. in Graphic Design & Digital Imaging and has served on the Board of Directors at AIGA NY. Her work has been awarded in the Int’l Adobe Design Awards, the Promax/GEMA Awards, the OBIE Awards, and the global Clio Awards.
She is deeply passionate about championing BIPOC voices, fostering inclusion, and increasing access in design, and actively mentors through programs with Adobe, Disney, and ADPList. Additionally, she currently welcomes pro bono design inquiries from BIPOC-led nonprofits and initiatives.
When she’s not photosynthesizing from the light of her Macbook screen—whilst blasting Bad Bunny, mind you—you can catch her learning a TikTok dance at 2am, curating vibes behind the DJ booth, or inhaling an egg-sellent brunch benny in hopes of hitting that daily protein intake goal; #gains.
